District Scouts Depart for National Camping Competition
In the morning, 22nd August 2025, the District Executive Commissioner, Mr. Okwir Chisper Landas, flagged off a team of scouts from Lira District to participate in the National Scouts Camping Competition at Kazi National Camping Site, Wakiso District.

A total of six schools are representing the district:

Atimikoma Primary School
Amach Modern Secondary School
Ogur Secondary School
Ayito Primary School
Agweng Primary School
Ogur Primary School
The selection was made through district-level competitions, where the top two patrols from each section qualified to represent Lira. The scouts will be at the national camp from 22nd to 26th August 2025.

Mr. Landas expressed gratitude to the District Chairperson, the Education Department, the District Sports Officer, and the District Inspector of Schools, whose support has made this representation possible. He also commended parents, teachers, and pupils for their dedication and encouragement.

Special appreciation was extended to the scout leaders and trainers who worked tirelessly to prepare the team. Their effort has ensured that the district is well-represented at the national level.

The district wishes the scouts great success as they showcase their skills and teamwork at the national stage.
